MrBitey Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Hello there, In light of recent govenment cuts, I am looking at alternatives to some of our current IT subscriptions... We are a primary school and have an MLE that we mostly use for sharing and disseminating the reams of paperwork our teachers generate. I'm trying to find a cloud storage solution that would be secure and free (hopefully) but also easy to use and navigate for users. For personal use I like 4shared and had a go at box.net which seemed pretty good. (Seems like some educators are using it at least... - Box.net - K21 Schools - Ketchikan, Alaska) Does anyone have any good ideas or would care to share what their schools are using? thanks in advance Mr. B
EduTech Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 You do have Microsoft Sky Drive - 25GB Storage for FREE - http://www.windowslive.co.uk/skydrive Not sure how it will go about sharing and such... but could always have a play with it.. could work i guess. James
featured_spectre Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Dropbox with a central account that everyone has access too...then get everyone to sign up for personal use using the referral page...that's 16gb* for file sharing if done properly. May even be wide to create a few dummy accounts as its an extra 250mb per referral on top of the 2gb they give u to start
EduTech Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 DropBox does rock! I used it all the time.. but i do use SkyDrive for my OneNote stuff :-) web apps FTW!
