[boot cd] Problem Creating a BartPE Disk

Morning all,

 

I've got some new-ish computers from our LEA. I sat down this morning and slipstreamed the required drivers to create a new XP CD. The initial PC has been built and syspreped ready for an image to be made.

 

I pop in the BartPE disk, boot the PC and start DriveImageXML - can't see the hard drive. No problem, I'll just build a new BartPE disk from the new XP disk.

 

No. It. Is. A. Problem.

 

I can't get PE Builder to create the new ISO. At the the last attempt there were 143 errors and 2 warnings.

 

It seems that most of the errors are keyboard drivers and fonts for other languages. I can't get it straight in my head what i need to do to fix it

 

Any help would be greatly received. I've appended the log for you to see.

Did you check SATA mode in bios - could be the reason why you can't see the HDD?

Couldn't you use a Windows PE disk? Download the latest Windows AIK and create one.

Yeah, I've checked the bios settings, tried all the combinations and it still wont see the drive.

Good point. It might be a case of moving over to using the Windows AIK.

Looking at the log, you don't seem to be using any mass storage driver plug-ins.

 

Instead of using the BartPE from Nu2.nu (which is almost 5 years old!), I would download a copy of Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. This is still based on BartPE, but is much more up-to-date and includes lots of NIC and SATA drivers as standard.

I second the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Version 3.5 (not even the latest) just worked perfectly with a brand new Lenovo.

 

It has yet to fail me.
