Restoring user profiles/data to a different server

Hi,

 

I need to move user profiles/data from the backup of a failed server on to a working server.

 

The profiles and home directories in AD are pointing to \\OUT_OF_ACTION_SERVER\...\... and I want this changing to \\WORKING_SERVER\...\... is there a way this could be done for en-mass for all users within a container?

I presume they are stored as \\Working_Server\Username\Home or Profile Directory?

If that is the case, select all the users in an Active Directory OU in the same path, right click, properties and in the profile and home directory field you can use the %USERNAME% variable in the path, so for instance \\Working_Server\%USERNAME%\Home and that will replace %USENAME% with each users username

Just thought, make sure the ownership of the folders and file has restored correctly as well as the permissions.
