Hi,

Am trying to find out whether it is possible to change the association of .mov files to open in Quicktime rather than Windows Media Player. I need to do this through Group Policy for all users.

We are using Win 7 clients and Server 2008 R2

If anyone knows of a simple step-by-step guide that would be great !

Thanks !

There's probably an easier way.

But if you fire up reg edit, you'll be able to look through the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT section of the registry. Make the alterations on one machine, test it.

You can then export a reg file, use Regedit's command line options (Lookie Lookie) to incorporate importing the reg file into a startup script.

You can also use GPP to do it either computer or user based:

Computer Conf->Preferences->Control Panel Settings->Folder Options->Right click->New->File Type

User Conf->Preferences->Control Panel Settings->Folder Options->Right click->new->Open With
