LeMarchand Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Some time ago one of the servers at one of my sites failed (as predicted!) and I had to shuffle its functions to the other server. In my haste (and never having done it before) I don't think DNS was properly configured. Things are (mainly) working, but I'd like to change a few things, though it appears you can only create a new scope, not alter an existing one. Can someone confirm that it's OK to do the following (or warn me off it!)? I was planning on deactivating the current scope (rather than delete it, just in case my plan fails). Create a new scope (same IP range, but a few other tweaks) and activate it. Test new scope and if OK leave running (delete old scope only after a couple of weeks - just in case there are any problems my testing doesn't pick up) or delete and reactivate old scope if no joy.
LeMarchand Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 What exactly are you trying to change? Not what I said in my first (no longer editable) post, sorry! It's the DHCP scope. (There are, I suspect, DNS problems but that's another story). Anyway, want to change the subnet mask and the IP address listed at the top of the scope isn't right.
