Music factory will run as admin but not as a Student or Teacher, it coming up with a registry access error.

I should know this, but its been one of those weeks, is there a way of letting a program have higher security clearance, or is it a case of finding exactly what reg values it is accessing them and amending those values security manually?

This is exactly the reason that we decided to virtualize all those crappy educational apps. You might take a look at cameyo (free), Vmware's Thinapp or Sandboxie

You can change registry key permissions via group policy under machine settings, windows settings and if on a server there should be a reg security folder that you can add keys to.

I'm assuming your still on XP as a lot of this stuff is alleviated with uac reg virtualization. You can use regmon to find out what keys are causing isues.

I do agree with bio also, app virtualization could also make this much easier.
