Can someone just give me their view on a proposed new server, 400 pupils (primary) runs DHCP, WSUS, Sophos (no SIMS or email server etc).

HP PROLIANT ML110 G6 TV X3430 2.40GHZ 4-CORE, 250GB SATA, 4Gb Ram

2TB SATA 7.2K RPM for data (dont have this much data but there for useage if needed)

1TB SATA for mid week backups

1TB SATA for archive of data/Photographs

Weekend backups done on external NAS drive

Thanks

personally i would look to use SCSI/SAS drives over cooking model SATA based drives

usually the more enterprise level disks have a longer rated life span, also WSUS can be quite disk intensive so you will benfit imo from the faster drives
