Backup exec issues recovery

Hello

 

we have recently installed backup exec 2010 from backup exec 12.5 as it blue screened and killed our server

 

we have had an issue with our dfsr system this has resulted in students work going missing.

 

now here is our problem: we have rebuild the server and got our media sets running we can also preform a backup, restore, and anything else which comes with it, the major head ache is that we need to recover the data that was lost from when we were using 12.5. the tapes just do not want to do anything we caan sort of get a 50/50 on if it will catolouge but we when we try to recover data after that it says please inster tape x (the one we have just catologed)
