Two factor authentication

First time poster!

Just wondering do any schools use two factor authentication for access to MIS for some or all users or not at all.

Via the VLE? For Staff yes, using one of those one time token key things.

 

For SIMS app, no, 'cause if you can get on a machine with SIMS on it, log into Windows, you've already completed a ton of security and been recorded on CCTV and so on.

Which MIS/VLE do you use?

Yes we do for all staff, students and Parents gaining access to anything remotely via TMG using a RADIUS server.

We use Actividentity Key fobs for Tutor access to SIMS data via SLG, but parents are only given a username and password, although sensitive pupil data (addresses, phone numbers etc) are hidden to the parent user by default.
