intrigue Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Hey guys, Basically thanks to pledgebank http://www.pledgebank.com/webcharity we made a pledge a while ago which was to volunteer to help make websites or redesign websites for charities. Now it started well enough and we got about 19 members and then eventually after time it wittled down to about 4 active members. What i would like to know is if there is any graphic designers, web developers, ILT Co ordinators, good english writers (for documentation and such) who would like to help and if so you can join the pledge above and then join the forums and help out. I think the idea has so much potential that i am really trying to get people involved with this. Thanks .matt
russdev Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 i agree and will see how i can help but with many things already taking my time up do not want to committe to anything but I will join and see if i can help in anyway i can... russ
intrigue Posted October 3, 2005 Author Posted October 3, 2005 Ok thanks russ. I know your already mega busy with this but im hoping to get quite a few people on board so that people are not inundated with work .matt
StewartKnight Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I'm not the best designer in the world.... but I might be able to offer some help, and if you have any thoughts on how to make www.stewartknight.co.uk look any better!! It's my charity trek to peru, to raise money for premature babies!
pshuttle Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Why not try the Joomla!/Mambo CMS for your site. It is dead easy to use and looks pretty professional. We use it for the primary schools in our area. Alternatively you could try PhpNuke or similar.... Pete
Geoff Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 What about turning it into a blog? I assume you'll be updating it while you do the trek? If you are and want to do it as a blog you might want to look at Wordpress. http://wordpress.org/
Guest Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Another vote here for http://www.joomla.org As pshuttle said, very easy to setup, and can look very professional. When teamed up with Gallery2 you'll have a great Website / Blog / Gallery for your trip. Paul H
