Photoshop Crashing

Ok, we're talking the old version of photoshop we run here here, 6.0.1

AMD Phemom x4 processors, 4GB ram and hundreds of gigs of HDD free, Nvidia G-force 220, running XP Pro 32bit.

 

Randomly, and only with certain colours:confused:, the following sequence causes photoshop to crash:

Select a small area with the magic wand tool

Fill with the paint bucket tool

[crunch]

"Adobe photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close, We are sorry for the inconvenience"

 

Same HDD image on the lower spec machines (Athlon X2, 2GB Ram, Onboard graphics) is fine... picking another colour is fine.... using the paintbrush tool with the same colour is fine.

 

I've tried reinstalling Photoshop and compatibility mode - and it doesn't matter who's logged in as I've replicated it on my (administrator access) account.

 

Rapidly running out of ideas here:( - short of installing 7:mad: or vista:rolleyes:

Nope wrong version - won't load the plugin

And I had a look in the bios to see if there was an option to only show one processor - there isn't.

Hmmmm. Your major difference is graphics cards. Tried new Nvidia drivers on the Phenom machines?

omg.., i have same problem and my graphic card is nvidia too.., so i must update my driver to solve this problem?

I have now, updated to the latest version but still no different
