laserblazer Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 A friend has a machine that is failing the MS Validation. When he clicks the fix it now button it just hangs. He admits that he is using the same licence on another machine but he does have a new 64bit XP disk and licence. Is he likely to encounter any problems running 32bit software like Sage if he installs the 64bit version?
3s-gtech Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 32bit - not really, may be some individual application problems. 16bit - yes.
Domino Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 If there's any 16bit processing in the 32bit app (dlls etc) then he'll have issues. Also 64bit XP is the work of the devil - its basically server 2003 with an xp-like layer on top. Getting drivers can be tricky, so before a reinstall check you can get replacement drivers for all the hardware
