sophos removal

Hi we currently deploy sophos from the console. We need to upgrade sophos, so I was going to move it to a new server and redeploy to the client machines. How do I remove the old version that will point to the old server/ ip address? Should I have a server just dedicated for av? What other roles do people run there av on?

Just done the removal and upgrade (on the same server) a few times here. well three different schools. Just protected the PC's from the console and I think that will do the trick, as well as a belt and braces method of doing a forced install via a startup batch file at logon (batch file from the forum) which I think will uninstall the old version and install the new one with your new settings. Have a look at the recent thread on Sophos by me on the Security forum on here.

Your clients should automatically comply with the new server setting when the server detects them.
