elsiegee40 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 If so, how please? We've got voice calling going, but no video
elsiegee40 Posted December 26, 2010 Author Posted December 26, 2010 Think I've finally managed to Google my answer - Blocked by apple... possibly working in 2011. Hey ho! Another reason not to get an iPhone! 1
mac_shinobi Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Apple - FaceTime - Make video calls to iPhone 4 from your Mac. Only works if you have a mac with an isight camera ie iMac, Mac Book, Mac Book Pro or a mac with a dedicated isight camera. If you ever get it working would be good to know how - might give it a go with skype later on
mb2k01 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) It looks like it might be possible as of today... Link: Skype offers iPhone video calls over 3G ? The Register I haven't tried it yet myself, but certainly looks promising. *EDIT* - I can confirm that the new version DOES work for video calling - tried both 3G and Wireless - both worked well with no lag. Very impressed! Edited December 30, 2010 by mb2k01 1
elsiegee40 Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Yes. I can confirm too. We downloaded it at lunchtime - might have to forgive Apple now!
mb2k01 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I don't use Skype a lot, but one thing which REALLY impressed me when messing around yesterday was the screen share facility within the video call window if you are chatting to someone on a PC. This could be really helpful for remote support as the user could call you from their desktop, you could see their screen on your iPhone and talk them through where to go to fix their issue.
