Weird Boot Problem

Hi

 

My Vista died a couple of days ago (rip) and would not boot after years of steady faithful service..

 

I have a single sata disk into 2 partitions C: and D:

 

it says "No boot device available"

 

I tried all and everything to get it working all of the bootrec.exe /???

as well as the bootsect.exe commands

and the chkdisk commands..

 

I ran HDD Regenerator and from that day on the partitions seem to have mixed up.. everytime i open up the drive the c drive has either become d or e drive ?!?

 

I ran partition magic and mounted it back as c and it still does not hold..

 

Any ideas?

have you checked that the correct partition has the boot flag set? if there is no boot flag then there will be no bootable partition therefore no boot device.

Yes, I've seen this before - There is no "C Drive". The Windows C drive would be D drive, and D Drive would become E.
