itgeek Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I want to be able to putusers into griups within moodle. I know this is possible in a course but could I create groups and this will save adding individual users to a couse everytime? For example put all History teachers in a group? Thanks
danIT Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Have a search on Moodle.org or Google for Moodle Site Wide Groups, or have a look at the CLEO tool.
secretlife Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 In moodle 1.9 there isn't an option for "sitewide" groups. There are workarounds at it all depends on why you want the groups - if you want all history teachers in a group to save adding them manually to history courses then you could assign the history teachers the role of teacher in the History category -so that any history course that is made then they are automatically teachers in. If you want to enrol pupils into groups in a course without doing it manually then you can put them into groups in courses via csv file - you can also add teachers to courses via csv file as well.
beeswax Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I've come across this - Using Moodle: Moodle Hack: Site-wide Groups but haven't tried it out myself.
