Anyone using MDaemon E-mail server?

And if so have you got it to work with an externally craeted SSL certificate? I don't really want my end users having to deal with SSL certificate warnings (not becuase I'm nice, just because I don't believe that they are clever enough to cope).

My other bit of kit that runs on SSL gave me the option to generate as CSR? Which I then (even with my flaky understanding of the process) used to create a valid SSL certificate from a trusted CA.

 

MDemon doesn't give me that option, yet the instructions say I can import one but not how to generate the CSR which I assume I need. Or do I?

If you have the external certificate then you need to chuck in into the "Trusted root certification authority" for windows.

 

At which point Mdaemon will be able to see it (or so goes the theory).

I think my confusion is that I don't understand certificate generation. The CSR can be generated when purchsing the certificate and doens't necessarily need to be generated by the software does it?
