pennywest Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I've just set up a Windows Storage Server, added it to the domain, and configured shares for domain users to access. Users are able to access the shares with no problems, but the problem I have is that no user except the domain and local administrator can log into the server. It just hangs and the desktop is blank with no start button. The reason i was trying to login with another user was because I was trying to set up Backup Exec on it and having authentication problems so wanted to see if the backupexec user could access the server. I then tried with other domain users but all have the same, no desktop when trying to log in. Does anyone have any ideas for me?
theriver Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 do you get the same problem with a local user, as opposed to a domain user?
ChrisH Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Have you tried Ctrl-alt-del and run try to run explorer from new task?
pennywest Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 Thanks for your replies. theriver - local users are fine it is only the domain user. ChrisH- I can 'see' explorer through task manager but it wont let me run it - no authority or permissions apparently!
