mrbios Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 This seems to becoming an increasing problem lately... I'm after a solution to allowing certain you tube videos, if they could be unblocked indvidiually that'd be idea as at the moment for students it's blocked as a whole. I was looking into the bloxx media filter but that wouldn't be a solution until at least april, ideally im after a free solution even if only temporary or as cheap as possible. Is there anything that can block youtube but allow a whitelist of videos that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
GREED Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 With some tweaking you could probably do this with any standard filter. YouTube you need to unblock about 8 other sites (mostly google ones). All you would need to do then is block the YouTube pages themselves, and whitelist the ones you want to get through... ...I think anyway
elsiegee40 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Have you suggested that your teachers look for the videos on TeacherTube (it's effectively YouTube for Teachers) There are safe versions of most things there and TeacherTube is usually not blocked. 1
