Adding Printer Issue - Windows XP

Probably machine specific, but any help will be welcome.

 

When I add a printer, that is either network shared or local to the machine, I am asked to specifiy the device driver, nothing unusal there.

 

I select the correct driver, either downloaded or from the manufacturer CD.

 

I then get the following error, message.

 

" Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator for help locating and installing a suitable driver."

 

This error occurs on every printer I try and install, regardless of make or manufacturer.
