Aw, one of the most surprising things about hedgehog ownership is how affectionate and snugly they can be. Maybe they just see you as a giant heat rock… But I like to think that they at least understand that you’re also a giant food and water dispensing machine. And wheel cleaning machine. And bedding replacing machine. And the source of all other unappreciated acts of hedgehog servitude.

Although I must say no matter how fond of a Hedgehog I might become I doubt I would let it crawl around on my chest!

They're okay when they're young but as they get older the spikes get bigger and can be a tad uncomfortable. We raised three once whose Mum had got squished out on the road.

OOH That's a pygmy like my Dexter.

 

He sleeps on my shoulder and on my chest under my t-shirt whilst im sat watching TV or on my laptop. He isnt the most active of animals! lol

 

He gets very annoyed when i move him though!

 

When people ask me what his spines feel like i tell them like one of those bristle hairbrushes...doesnt hurt if they are laying flat.
