Asset Labels - What do you use?

Good afternoon all

 

Right, so, I'm fed up of printing off standard office labels to label up machines, only to have them peel a month later as the glue dries out with the heat from the machine, so I'm looking to put a proposition to the SLT to get a label printer to produce these instead, but what do you use?

 

We have a couple of handheld labelling devices in school, but they are literally for doing the odd label for a file (you know, the fiddly little keys, type in what you want one label at a time).

 

I'm after something that is a bit faster and able to be programmed / printed to from my school PC instead, but something that prints to labels that are nice and substantial in terms of their stickiness.

 

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

We print our own off and use the Avery labels. They seem to work on the majority of devices. We use these for our PAT labels too which are customised with The Property of... printed on them. They work out at 1.1p per label

We use avery triplebond labels, 3m adhesive guaranteed to stick 3 times stronger.

Which Avery Labels do you use? I'm using Avery, but they're the standard Address Labels at the moment. Are there some stickier ones that are available then? As that would do me too (and in fact save me a bunch of work as I could just look to print the same templates with a bit of margin adjustment) ..

We use IDMark (ID MARK - ID MARK, Asset Labels, ID Labels, ID Asset Plates - Dantech, UK)

 

Can be a bit of a pain to do but its not too bad. Basically acid dye and a stencil .

We are using the L7654-25 labels. They are about the same size as the PAT labels. We use these labels too for Asset labels for the PAT which has a barcode and a number on.
