robbie-w Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 It's happening on a variety of PC's no one type of hardware. On one PC I've actually managed to catch doing it the event viewer was pointing to a corrupt profile on the PC. Now that may or may not be the same problem across the other PC's what could cause this. Any ideas? Anyone experienced the same? Robbie
chazzy2501 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Are you using group policy preferences to add printers by any chance?
Hightower Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 How do you deploy your OS? Is it a ghost image which is used for all hardware types? If so, the corrupt profile might be a part of that image.
sted Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 you havnt got any scripts with a pause command in them have you that are running at startup?
robbie-w Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 We are using group policy preferences to deploy printers yes. We use SCCM to deploy and scripts are all fine. It's something that has only started recently Ive posted the error logs here Stuck on Welcome Screen Corrupt Profile
robbie-w Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 I think I have found the root cause. We have some how carried over the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service over to Windows 7 from one of our group policies Event ID: 1530 may be logged in the Application log on a Windows 7-based or Windows Vista-based client computer I'll report back when I'm sure this fixes it Robbie
robbie-w Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 I was mistaken this wasn't on any of the PC's with the issue Any other ideas? Robbie
