pantscat Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Does anyone have a nice guide for implementing RADIUS? I've looked into doing it with IAS or NPS, but as I'll have more than 50 "clients" that's not going to work without going down an Enterprise Server licence route. I've read a little about FreeRadius, but I haven't managed to find any nice and simple guides for implementation. I'm keen to have a play around with this so if anyone has any advice or comments it would be very welcome! Cheers, Ant
robk Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Implement radius to do what? Wireless access, mac address filtering.... There will be someone on here who has done what you are thinking, but you need to fill in the details.
pantscat Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Ah... good point! Initially just for wireless access (maybe PEAP-based authentication), but then in the future I'd like to do 802.1x auth for all machines.
ezzauk Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Are the AP's mannaged through a controller, if so you only need to add the controller to IAS, and the same for the switches.
pantscat Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Yes - it's a Ruckus system... didn't realise it was just the controller that needed to be added to IAS... interesting! That makes life a bit easier... and means that I could go down the IAS/NPS route.

There are lots of Ruckus Experts about on here.
pantscat Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Yes... that's an option. But I don't really want to use the captive portal type method to make people authenticate. Plus I want to be able to restrict what machines can and can't use the wireless.
