Internet Problems at School!!!!

Hello all.

 

Our school network was working quite happily until..............

 

The powers to be, decided to get a chap from DELL to check our system over to see what upgrades were needed etc.

 

After 2 days he was finished and went on his merry way.

 

Next day the pupil had problems accessing the internet....some connected ...some did not..

 

I checked the speed from the supplier to the router which was fine..

 

It seems the problem is on the school side.

 

Any ideas on what I should check

Did the guy from dell make any changes? e.g. to switches?

Can you ping the router ok from different machines on your network?

Sounds like you a have a switch not working. Time to go and check the lights in the cupboard!

I would agree - note down which ones can't connect - is it always the same computers? Do they all go to the same switch?
