What 2nd hand games console?

Apart from playing on my grandkids' Wii, I know nothing about games consoles. We've just bought a small villa in Portugal that we plan to rent out and I thought a games console might go down well. I only want to spend a few pound on an Ebay item that maybe has a few games thrown in.

 

Any thoughts please?

Well it's got to be either a Wii, Xbox, or PS3 as anything else will probably be left gathering dust. Game & Gamestation sell second hand units. They sell second hand games as well. What's the electricity output in Portugal? Is it the same as us with same plugs?

Same mains voltages but different plug. I've got loads of adapters.

Something like a Wii would go down well but make sure anything like that is written into an inventory (You know that I'm sure!)

I'd go for the Wii personally. Nintendo seem to specialise, and do rather well, in quick simple, 2 seconds to learn, fun, group orientated games. The type of thing I'd be looking to play with my family if the rain came down whilest on holiday. Can't say I see much attraction in going on holiday abroad and spending my time in the villa completing the latest Quake/Medal of Honor/Halo game.

It's a shame you were not tat the replay expo this weekend. Many hundreds of consoles for sale complete with games for not a lot cash.

Id take that one furthur and say I wouldnt fancy going on holiday to portugal and playing a games console full stop!

 

Leave them a list of things to do instead. And a bucket and Spade..

Often in the summer, parents want to get the kids out of the sun for a bit. If they are busy paying games then they're not wrecking the furniture!
