Espada Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Now I know this should be a simple one but for the life of me I cannot figure out why it is not working. I have created a wallpaper which I am trying to push out using a GP. I have put it in a share on the server and put the address into the policy but nothing happens. So I moved the file to the root of C, changed the GP to match and still nothing all we get is a coloured background. Anyone fancy pointing out the obvious as to where I am going wrong. I know the policy is being applied because all the other effects are there such as no clock.
Espada Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 I have tried bmp, jpg and gif all to no avail. Actually it worked once with a jpg but then never worked again.
Gatt Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Have u tried BGInfo? link Had similar problems with GP wallpapers that i never found out how to fix, Advantage of BGInfo is that you can display info on the scren (eg IP Address, Username, PC name, etc..)
tosca925 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 It must either be a BMP or JPG. Just a thought................don't you have to give the domain computers access to the share in the share permissions?

Espada Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 I enabled active desktop using the same GPO and have made sure they have permissions to the folder and the file itself. This one is really bugging me because I am clearly missing something so obvious here.
