Gatt Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 We have a print server (Windows 2008 R2) with papercut ng (10.5) installed and mainly using OKI C5650's.. I have been asked to find a way to force all staff to print in greyscale by default Anyone know what the quickest way to do this?
TechSupp Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 We had a similar thing. Printers just installed on server and shared out via logon script. As default the printing was colour (and expensive) so went into the printer properties on the server and changed the option to print in black (didnt say 'and white' as I know we dont print white before someone comments!) and then on the Advanced page for the printer clicked the 'printing defaults' button, job done, thats the defaults they now get and they have to select colour if they want colour. Trouble is thats not the end of the problem as we now get wasted prints in Black and White as they wanted colour but forgot to change the default before printing. At least its cheaper wasted prints! Hope that helps.
