Accessing Home Directory via Moodle

Hi Guys

 

Has anybody found a way of setting up moodle so that students, once logged on can access their home directory. I know there is a module to do it if you are running Moodle on a LAMP, but we are running it on a WAMP box (Windows server, Apache, MySQL, PHP).

 

You would think that if its running on Windows in a Windows Active Directory Domain there should be some way of doing it, but I've yet to figure one out.

Which I think is now maintained by a guy at our school as the original author has left education.

Yeah that's the one we use - but he is using a WAMP box so it wont work as he mentioned.

 

Sorry I cant be more helpful - I only started playing with moodle a few days ago and its running linux

We use that plugin too. LAMP integrates better with windows than WAMP

Seriously, set yourself up a Moodle server, use an oldish windows machine, plenty of memory and fastish hard drives + at least one gb LAN card.

 

I used to do this with fedora in about twenty minutes!

May have to go the LAMP route then.... I'm just useless with Linux though. Tried setting Moodle on Linux before and struggled with the basics. Couldn't get it to work at all.

Hi smb works really well. Why dont you install ubuntu desktop then you will have a gui. Then you can learn using the terminal before moving to server if you wish( I have stuck with ubuntu desktop). This then lets your users use the smb block. Give us a shout if you get stuck.
