This free device manager alternative, displays all computer devices and properties in a tree arrangement.

 

There is no install required and the devices display is [possibly] more 'granular' [?] than Device Manager. It will also take you directly to the Registry location of a particular device with a right-click.

It [apparently] also allows for remote connections to other PCs but I haven't got this to work yet. Other advanced options allow the use of ‘Last Known Good’ Control-set or choose some other control-set by its number. I haven't had to try this yet but perhaps it could be useful at some later date.

Edit: I got the remote pc connection to work using the remote PC's IP address.
