Wireless network times out

We have some D-Link wireless network boxes and the first time you log on to AD via them the logon script times out before the user profile is created. To get round this we logon for the first time using a wired ethernet conection. After that it works OK because the profile is already there. We think it is timing out while waiting for server responce. Any ideas how we can create the profile wirelessly?

There's a Group Policy change you can make to force a laptop to wait for a network connection before running startup scripts etc. The MS KB is here Group Policy application fails on a computer that is running Windows 2000, Windows XP Service Pack 1, or Windows XP Service Pack 2
