aaltaf Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Hi We are experiencing problems with some of our clients losing their connection to our mapped drives. A notification suddenly pops up with a message telling the user that they are working offline. The connection to our Exchange server is still running and the user can use the internet as well. If the users just right-click on the Offline notification and select synchronize they get connected to the mapped drives again. Whats causing this problem?
Azhibberd Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I'm guessing these are wireless laptops? We had this problem, Best bet (if the area doesn't need to be available outside of the network) is set the machine name not to go offline in the GPO!
jthwang27 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 i'm having the same issue...any body have some sort of a solution
DMartin Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hi, It sounds like the mapped drives might be timing out due to under activity. Check out this KB article, hopefully it helps you out a bit! Mapped Drive Connection to Network Share May Be Lost
chazzy2501 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Are you sure you're not getting the offline sync mode kick in? it has it's own criterea (like ping server x, if you can't you're offline)
