Promethean .flipchart conversion to Smart .notebook

I'm looking for a trick to convert Promethean files to Smart files.

I know that i can import .flp directly in Smart notebook, but i need to import .flpchart.

 

I read a thread about Prometheanfileconverter.exe, but i' m not sure about the legality of this and, anyway, i can't download it.

It is a tool within the Smart Notebook package, and it is installed with Notebook.

 

Can't see any issues regarding legality! They're your documents, so you can do what you want with them...

I think in the newest version of smartboard software you can convert it in there.

It's easy to open .flp (files from Activ Studio) with Notebook. But I would open .flpchart (files from Activ Inspire) with Notebook.

No sorry.

I just made a very simple example page but I can't have an access to the network now.

 

But, after creating this file, i just saved in the "standard format" with Activ Inspire : .flpchart.

Then I tried to open it with Notebook (File -> import) but Notebook just opens .flp "natively" (you say that in english ???)

I have the same issue. I am the IT director at a small school. We have a new music teacher starting in the fall and she has all of her lesson plans in .flpchart files from my understanding. She sent me one and I tried to open it to see if it was compatible/convertible to SMARTNotebook, but it did not recognize it. What is the earliest version of Notebook that includes this feature. Does anyone know?

Hi, this is a few years late to this thread but i have just had the same problem. However, there is a solution. If you open your flpchart file and then print file to pdf first. Once you have done this, open the pdf and click on the print button again. When your printer options come up, choose the smart notebook document writer option (it may be called something slightly different on your computer). When you have chosen this press print and then wait until a box comes up saying to convert to smart notebook. You can then choose to keep the layout of the original document but not be able to edit it, or allow editing but it may not look the same as it did in the flpchart file anymore. Doing it this way means you dont have to do it page by page either. it does the whole file at once. Hope that helps
