sync iphone with exchange 2003

The head has an iphone, i understand i can sync it to exchange 2003.

 

I think i can do this with IMAP?

 

has anyone done this?

 

Also how would you do it outside of the school network aswell?

If you have Outlook Web access enabled then you just point it to that address and away you go.

On the phone it's settings -> Mail -> Add Account and choose Exchange.

I beleive most phones use exchange activesync - exchange 2003 does not support exchange activesync AFAIK

Exchange 2003 does have activesync and I know our old 2003 worked with my iphone.

As Tricky said you need OWA kinda setup to ensure things work. Have you got a published owa url?

This method works for me using the incoming mail server as the server address

Basically select exchange and enter the details. If it comes up with an error it should let you put a server name in. Enter the servername there (no http or /owa etc) and see if it loads. NOTE: it may take a few mins to fail to connect.
