Hi,

I work for a school which includes boarding. We have Server 2008 Server enviroment, however the boys machines are not part of the school domain.

We have created accounts for boarders which they can use at night to give them a bit more free access to the Internet using the smoothwall. These accounts have time restrictions on them. However some boys are still able to use their night account during the day. I have tried to log in with a boarding account during the day and it will not let you login so the time restrictions are working. What I want to know is how to make sure every boarding account is logged out so they are not able to use there accounts during the day. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I know you can do this in dansguardian (as smoothwall is designed around this it probly can do it aswell) you can have websites blocked between set hours.

but you might be able to set smoothwall up to block the internet for users in a group during the day only

I was going to suggest this

With websense i know you can make it so between certain times you can change the filtering rules.

For example we allowed students go on games after school hours.

Yep SW already has a default "Lunchtime" policy which you could use as a template for the night, no need for seperate accounts then
