Abacus Evolve I-Planner Software Registry Edit

For Abacus Evolve I-Planner Software, where the database stops connecting because you have changed the name of your computer (Abacus Evolve Interactive Planner Installation Guide, pages 26 to 27, Resolution3) - standalone install.

 

Navigate to HKEY Local Machine\Software\Harcourt\Abacus Evolve IPlanner 3 and locate the DBServer registry key. This contains the computer name. Edit this so that the computer name is correct and close the editor. No computer restart necessary.

or even better change it to 127.0.0.1 and then you can change pc name as much as you like/use it as a ghost packages etc (localhost dosent work though)

no probs anything to make this pos software a bit easier till i can convince people to throw it in a skip where it belongs along with the people who make it

The planner has gone online now. We are waiting for the upgrade details. They say they notified existing customers by email to school offices, but nothing came through to us that we can trace. The registry edit is just a fix to keep us going until we can give the online version a go.

schools ive been in have asked about that and ben told in no uncertain terms cough up or tough even though they have had this non 64bit/vista/win7 software relatively recently certainly after vista was released

Did you check the post I'd referenced? I complained to our Pearson local consultant, as our maths co-ordinator swears he was assured the online version would be free of charge as we'd bought the CD product already.

i dont deal direct with suppliers (im contracted in to schools x hours a week to do whatever) so they sort that out themselves thats just what ive been told.
