Hi folks,

Windows crashes whenever I open My Documents yet when I open it from somewhere else (i.e. My Computer) it's fine. It just seems to be doing it when I open it via the start menu.

Any ideas?

I've tried sfc /scannow but alas I don't have the original XP disk (we're a school and they don't keep things like that...doh!) so I can't run that.

I'm guessing the documents are being redirected? Sounds like the address there being redirected to isn't avaiable? And if your a school do you not have a volume liscence account?

Sounds a strange question are you running securus?

Had exactly the same problem with this - took me about 3 weeks to work out the problem!! if so then it is something to do with the version of securus

My thoughts entirely - took me 6 months to work it out as it was so sporadic. Try removing the securus client. If the problem stops then update your securus client.

Hmm...haven't got a clue what securus is. Not running that. The My Documents folder is re-directed but if you open the network share- everything is fine. If you open the My Documents shortcut- 'windows encountered an error' blah blah...
