Hi - I'm a technician at a school and am trying to re-install Windows XP on to a Toshiba Satellite Pro. I turn it on a press F12 for boot menu, I select LAN and all I get is beeping.

I still get this after a BIOS reset.

Any Ideas?

continued bleeping usually means a memery issue. Have you tred bootingg from a cd and what caused you to need to reinstall. Could be many things the fact you can access the bois means nothing. Try booting from a ubuntu live cd and do a memtest not the best but will help rule out memery and then try to boot from it (live) if it work and you can read and write to hard drive it may be a pxe issue. If I rember some of the satalite pros need a disc to do a pxe boot.

Hi - thanks for the reply. I can boot up normally and access Windows, I can also save to the hard drive. I will give a go at your suggestions.

I need to re-install as it keep having errors, that we have no idea what is causing them. The errors include, computer freezing when a spell check occurs, wireless not working properly. It seems to pick up the guest access, and nothing else, but it doesn't show you there are any available connections. We've swapped out the laptop and was hoping a wipe would just sort the Toshiba out.
