Hi all, a good friend of mine is getting rid of his server that he's had at home for some time now, he asked me to see if anyone wants the whole thing or bits before it goes in a skip in about a weeks time. So I said worth a punt on here....

Its a Dell PowerEdge 4400 with the following spec:

P3 933 Mhz

133mhz sys bus

512mb (2x 256) RAM

Adaptec SCSI adapter

2x power supplies

Boots to bios / SCSI config

no disks.

He doesn't want owt for it, and is happy to break it for parts. If anyone wants any part of it collection from West Yorkshire or postage at cost of postage and packing PM me and I will put you in touch with him.

Answers to questions:

PSUs are 320 Watt each

Its a tower format (on casters so i'm told!) so not a small unit (hence collection from West Yorkshire or carrage at your cost but he may have issues sending it out as a whole as it is a rather large beast!)

http://thetechiegeek.com/images/dell4400/Dell4400_4.JPG That is rather like the beast (note this is NOT a photo of the actual item, but to illustrate it)

I had once of those beasts. Fondly referred to as Hoover with it's 9GB SCSI disks and complete lack of care for anything that wasn't linux! :)

Good times.

Forget P&P ... those things are hefty enough to stick a small motor on them and enter it into robot Wars! Collection would be way cheaper!

For a school looking to play with Moodle it would be worth having, stick a bit more RAM in and get a few disks in there and you are laughing.
