Stuart_C Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 So I've got a group polict on my main users OU that disable the control panel (admin templates ==> Control Panel ==> Prohibit access tothe control pannel). Then on my teachers sub-OU I've got another GP that say's disable that setting and I've then configured teh "show only specificed control panel items" and I've allowed access to the power settings. In XP this works a treat, the students get nothing and the teachers get the control pannel with the power settings. On win7 the students get no control planel and the teachers get... the control panel but no icons. Any idea's how to get the power icon available?
steve Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 When you say allow access, how have you done it? via named cpl (powercfg.cpl) or name of item in control panel?
steve Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 If you're using the cpl try adding "Microsoft.PowerOptions" 1
sted Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 looks like you cant juse the old cpl bits anymore try whats in the included link New Vista Syntax for Opening Control Panel Items from the Command-line - How-To Geek
Stuart_C Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 Yap that seems to be the case. When I added the Microsoft.poweoptions it worked fine. Cheers.
