Keyspan Adaptors

I need to get a couple more of these as I need to replace a couple of laptops and we have the old serial promethean boards (not changeable unfortunately)

I am having reall problems finding keyspans - I can get others but they dont seem to work.

Does anyone know where I can get some or has anyone got a couple kicking about that they could send me?

Last time a kind edugeeker sent me a couple and saved my life - I'm hoping for a repeat performance

I used to order some reasonably cheap Videk USB->Serial adaptors from Insight UK and never had any problems with them on a serial Promethean board.

 

If you like I can try and dig out the product code so you can take a look if you have trouble getting keyspan ones?

Got loads lying around but thats because they break/get broken so easily

Even real ancient Activboards have USB connectors in the box behind the board, have you checked to see if theres one there? Found this out the hard way when the school providing the nackered keyspan devices had these so I replaced the whole lot with straight usb cables. Whiteboard issues dropped by 90% !

The really old ones came with a cable so you could choose a usb or serial connection, I suppose the original ones were serial only possibly?

Thanks all - I have spoken to Promethean and they confirm that these are serial only.

Thanks for the links - I only found them on Amazon where they always say they have one, but actually have none!

 

Still would love a freebie from a lovely edugeeker though (reduce, reuse, recyle!!!)
