Hi,

Recently had a vanilla domain installed and working through our small issues. At the moment students and staff are using IE but are unable to access the favourites. They recieve access is denied. This means people are unable to add favourites but cant see where any GPOs i have added remove this access ?

Do you have favorites redirected to a shared folder? If so, it may be a permissions issue on the shared folder. Favorites can be redirected by GPO. Ours is a custom adm template, located in our case in User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Internet Explorer>Favorites. If you can locate the GPO, you should be able to find where the redirection is to, and then edit the permissions on the folder. However, if you have a custom adm template, you may find you can't see the setting without using filtering. You'll need to open the GPO editor, click on Administrative Templates, go to the View menu, choose Filtering and then, in the new window, untick the "Only show policy settings that can be fully managed" box. Then navigate to your GPO and you should be able to see the settings properly. Sorry if you know all this already!
