RM Connect 2.3/4.

 

I got to play with it for 4 years and I didnt really know any better back then but always did we have problem after problem, especially migrating from 2.3 to 2.4.

 

I did however like the User Manager, it was simple and fast.

 

Every 4 weeks or so we'd have some sort of failure and everyone would get full Admin rights - the wonderful days of Windows 98.

 

We then got upgraded to some new servers which had Windows 2000 server installed and still we got to play with Connect 2.4 that was fun but we had a lot less downtime.

 

The good old days eh ?

 

I think in my loft i still have the old RM server which I grabbed after the new CC3 network got commisioned and it looks like something from Robot wars and will be soon heading to the tip.

I had the displeasure of dealing with it when I was at high school from the user side. It takes a special kind of junk coding to make the custom logon box crash on 50% of the machines 50% of the time while providing very little extra protection from skilled users.
