install Photoshop elements 8 on a network PC

Hi All,

Having a lot of problems setting up Photoshop Elements 8. I managed to create an MSI for distribution via GPO but when the students logon to the work station Photoshop just hangs.

Reloaded it on one work station as administrator answered all the questons and all the rest, edited photo, shut the application down and restarted the workstation. Tried logging on as a student and it falls over with the error message 1427:21 which I cannot find on the adobe web site. The help line is like trying to wade through treacle with no resolution.

Have any of yous out there managed a working set up.

In my previous job I gave up trying to create a deployable MSI and ended up running the EXE installer through a VBscript that run on logon. Not an ideal solution but the suite only had 25 machines I needed to log into.

 

There is a thread somewhere about deploying Flipshare which mentions editing the MSI to remove the need for it to be called via the EXE. If you have a search for that, maybe the same solution will apply in this instance.
