Nij.UK Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 What are your experiences with Podium Software. I was just wondering if anyone had set this up at there school. It is a package that staff and students use to create pod casts. Has anyone implemented this in there school, and if what software do you use for it Ive been asked by the ICT Teacher to look into this All help and suggestions appricated... Thanks
paulpmp4 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 It's not available yet, even though they are sending out leaflets and showed it at BETT last week. It doesn't seem to do much more than Audacity. Maybe a little easier for kids to use. it is due out in the next couple of weeks.
alonebfg Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 they did say that on the stand and it is easer for kids but the bit you will be paying for when you buy the software is the space on there site as you are giving area to post pods as it were on there site. you can change the option to your site but i dont know if you are locked in to still paying for there site?? but it is easy and good to use if you want any info pm me. i do know they do have a very good support system in place and are very helpful as they are the same people who do textease studio ct and i have never had a problem with it . Also i know if you get a site licence you can deploy it via gpo and if you ask them they will create you a file (if you buy a site licence) to deploy the reg files so you dont need to regester it on every machine.
paulpmp4 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 You don't have to but their server space. You can but just the software.
alonebfg Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 i thought that migh be the case i had someone sit me down and show me how it worked and everything and as i got a free sweet and a bottle of water and a seat i was happy and she was really nice.
