Bulk adding EXIF data to pictures

Got this question for my column. Irfanview doesn't do it, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a program that will be able to solve it?

 

I have scanned several thousand slides and negatives as jpeg. In a spread sheet I have corresponding details of dates, location, and subject. Is there an easy way to import this as the Exif information for each photo?

Apparently this does it Exifer for Windows but is quite old.

 

This should do it but may not be as user freindly ImageMagick: Convert, Edit, and Compose Images

 

This one looks really good PhotoME - Exif, IPTC & ICC Metadata Editor but may not do batch jobs.
