neon Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Quite new to this whole imaging lark, have managed to image a load of dell pc's that we have in school, I have now made a image of the acer laptops we have and uploaded the image to windows server 2008 fine, the whole process seems to be working fine until after the expansion of the windows files and the machine reboots, I get a message saying windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem? Anyone any clues on what I have done wrong? I have copied the exact same process as I did for dells? only difference is I have to change the laptops into ide mode before the instal i think? Any help greatly apreciated... Steve
SYNACK Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 A few questions to make it easier to help: What OS is involved in the image 7, Vista or XP? Was the system that you took the image off syspreped? What method of deployment are you using from the server MDT,WDS,Ghost, other?
computer_expert Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Do they have a dell diagnostics/recovery partition still on them? If they do then this may be your problem
mac_shinobi Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Do they have a dell diagnostics/recovery partition still on them? If they do then this may be your problem Had that a while back on some older dells with the recovery partition had to use ghost disc or the likes to delete all hidden partitions etc so as to make it one big partition ( obviously )
