Proxy Change Group Policy not Applying !!!!!!! RSOP showing strange error?

Hi all we have changed our proxy details slightly over the holiday as we have Smoothwall installed.

So some reason on some machines the Group Policy is not changing?

I have checked RSOP and all the currect policys are set to apply.

For Staff they seem to be applying but for students, they do not get applied.

I have done a GPRESULT but get the following error:

INFO: The user "DOMAIN\S14-02$" does not have RSOP Data

Any idea why there is a machine name instead of a username? Staff also get this error?

Can anyone please help?

Ok, im guessing that im getting that error from RSOP as the user does not have permissions to run RSOP.

But still cant get the policy to apply?

It is only "Group Policty -> User Configuration -> Windows Settings ->

Internet Explorer Maintenance -> Connection -> Proxy Settings" where the settings are set? theres not a second place?

Thanks CJF, will try that now

GPRESULT should run as any user unless permissions are non-standard in AD which would cause all kinds of trouble.

Have you tried rejoining one of the troubled machines to the domain?

At last!

I removed the proxie settings from the Student_default policy and create a "Set Proxy" GP. that seemed to work,

could the "Student_Default" GP have become corrupt?

CJF -

Just noticed that we do actually have "Disallow Interactive Users from generating Resultant Set of Policy data"

Thanks for the help

It was infact none of the above !!!!!!!!!!

We had used "Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK)" to deploy IE8 before it was available in Windows Update.

In the deploy settings there are proxy settings that OVER RIDE GROUP POLICY !!!!!!

I created a updated deployment file without the proxy settings changed and now everything is working!!
