Mac and Entourage

We have Entourage set up on our macs. Recently added users say last 2 years work fine (their logon is initial.surname). Any users that have been here since the year dot seem to be missing the last 12 months email when synchronised with exchange 2003, so their most recent mail that shows is Sept 2009(their login is just 3 characters).
