Position:

 

This challenging global role covers the full web development lifecycle, with emphasis on analysis, design, programming and unit testing as part of a global web development team.

 

• Design solutions to user requirements – from initial documentation of requirements and feasibility analysis, through to detailed specifications
   
  
• Initiate, lead and participate in projects, develop new functionality, maintain existing processes, management and administration of the underlying database and operating system
  
• Consult with global users and fully understanding the implications to them of a design change for another region
  
• Ensure maintain up to date knowlege of the latest technologies and methodologies of web development and design
  
• Provide support in maintaining and upgrading existing systems

Required Experience

• At least 2 years proven experience of PHP 4/5, MySQL – SQL/DDL, XHTML/CSS, JavaScript
  
• Experience of version control systems
  
• Basic Linux admin (comfortable on the command line)
  

 

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

 

• Javascript Frameworks (prototype/scriptaculous), general Linux Redhat 5 usage
  
• Linux administration – Samba, file mounting, simple networking/iptables
  
• MySQL Administration including replicated environments, backups and point in time recovery
  
• OOP patterns and design for PHP
  
• Ajax
  
• Apache 2 administration – SSL/HTTP authentication
  
• SOAP/XML
  
• Advanced shell scripting
  
• Java Applets
  
• XSLT
  
• Web design for mobile devices
  
• ApacheMQ or other brokerages
  
• phpMyAdmin experience
  
• PHP frameworks (Zend/CakePHP)
  
• MVC Patterns
  
• Graphic design
  
• Spoken and written French would be an advantage
